Who publishes RL News
RL News is published by Keenan Hutka in Kenora, Ontario. One publisher/editor runs the site. When you see a byline of RL News, that means staff reporting from this newsroom — not a separate invented roster of writers.
Bylines
News: Stories may carry the byline RL News or Keenan Hutka. Both refer to this newsroom.
Opinion / columns: Opinion pieces will be labeled as opinion and will name the author. We do not invent fake reporter identities to look larger than we are.
Guest contributors: Outside writers appear under their real name (or a pen name they own and disclose), with a short bio.
Sourcing
We aim for clear, attributed reporting — official documents, on-the-record interviews, and named sources when possible. Anonymous sources are used only when the information is important, we know who the source is, and naming them would put them at real risk or shut down the information. Tips are welcome; see Contact.
Corrections
When we get a fact wrong, we correct it on the story and log it on our Corrections page. If you spot an error, email Keenan@rlnews.ca with the URL, what is wrong, and the correct information.
Independence and ads
Advertising and sponsorships help keep the site running. Ads and sponsored content are separate from news judgments. Sponsored material is labeled. See Advertise for business inquiries.
Utilities and service boards
Our Utilities board and other service pages pull from official sources and are updated on a schedule. They are status boards, not investigative stories. Official maps and notices always win if something changes between checks.
