KYIV – August 7, 2026 – Ukrainian air defences shot down or suppressed 114 of the 147 drones launched by Russia overnight, the Ukrainian Air Force reported Friday.
Russia launched a mix of Shahed-type attack drones (including jet-powered variants), Gerbera, Italmas and decoy drones from multiple directions, including Russian territory and occupied areas of Donetsk and Crimea.
Hits by 29 drones were recorded at 15 locations, with falling debris reported at four additional sites. The Air Force said the attack was still ongoing as of early morning, with some enemy drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace.
Aviation, anti-aircraft units, electronic warfare systems and mobile fire groups took part in the defence.
