KYIV – August 9, 2026 – Russian missile and drone attacks continued overnight into Sunday, with damage reported in Odesa and other regions following a deadly wave of strikes the previous night.
Local authorities said residential buildings were damaged in Odesa and at least six people were injured. Earlier attacks on Friday night into Saturday killed at least 12 people across Ukraine, including a child in the Kyiv region, and wounded more than 80 others.
Ukraine’s Air Force reported intercepting the majority of the drones launched in the previous assault. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has again urged Western partners to speed up deliveries of air-defence systems and interceptors.
The strikes come as Ukraine continues long-range operations against Russian logistics and energy targets.
