BRATISLAVA / PRESOV – August 25, 2026 – Slovak police have detained three foreign nationals in connection with an alleged plot to set fire to a Ukrainian-owned drone factory in eastern Slovakia, local media reported.
According to Dennik N and police statements, two suspects were arrested in Slovakia and a third was detained in Germany under a European arrest warrant. Officers seized an incendiary mixture of gasoline and polystyrene — described as a homemade form of napalm — along with tools, cell phones, an action camera and a hand-drawn map of the facility.
The target was the Skyeton factory in Haniska, near Presov, which produces advanced surveillance drones. Police said the planned attack could have caused a large-scale fire at the site, where approximately 70 people were present and property was valued at tens of millions of euros.
The incident is one of the first known attempts to target a military equipment manufacturer on Slovak territory. Skyeton opened the production facility in 2024 and had planned to employ up to 200 people.
The case fits a broader pattern of sabotage and arson attempts across the European Union targeting industrial and logistics sites linked to Ukrainian and Western defence production since Russia’s full-scale invasion. Similar incidents have been reported in the Czech Republic and Estonia. The investigation continues.
