KENORA / FORT FRANCES – September 3, 2026 – A new provincial court justice has been appointed to serve the Kenora and Fort Frances districts, expanding judicial resources in Northwestern Ontario.
Brent Ian Davidson has been named to the provincial court in the Northwest region. Local officials described the appointment as a welcome addition for courts that have long faced heavy caseloads and limited bench capacity.
The announcement comes as Kenora continues to deal with other local pressures, including the planned expropriation of the Kenricia Hotel and concerns that a tight housing market could make it harder to relocate residents before the city takes possession.
The Ontario Provincial Police Golden Helmets motorcycle team is also scheduled to visit Kenora this weekend.
