KENORA – September 1, 2026 – Kenora is once again taking part in Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, an annual event held to raise awareness of sexualized violence.
Participants walk a set distance wearing red high heels as a show of solidarity and to draw attention to the issue. The event is held in communities around the world and returned to Kenora this week.
Organizers say the walk is meant to encourage conversation, support survivors and highlight local resources. Details on the route and gathering point were circulated locally ahead of the event.
The campaign continues a long-running effort in the community to keep sexual violence awareness in public view.
