Kenora Voters Will Elect Six Councillors and Three School Trustees in October

Kenora will hold contested races for six council seats and three public school board trustees in the Oct. 13–26 online and telephone vote.

KENORA – September 5, 2026 – Kenora residents will vote this October for six city councillors and three Keewatin Patricia District School Board public trustees after other municipal and school board offices were acclaimed, the city says.

A certified candidate list is now available. Mayor Andrew Poirier and trustee positions for the English separate and French-language school boards were acclaimed, so contested races are limited to council and the public board.

Voting runs from Oct. 13 to Oct. 26 using online and telephone ballots. Eligible voters can confirm or update their names on the voters’ list at City Hall on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or by calling City Clerk and Returning Officer Heather L. Pihulak at 807-467-2295.

Election day across Ontario municipalities is Oct. 26. The city is urging residents to review candidate profiles and cast a ballot during the voting period.
