OTTAWA – September 9, 2026 – Prime Minister Mark Carney will convene a fall Cabinet Planning Forum in Banff, Alberta, on Sept. 10–11, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a Sept. 7 release.
Cabinet ministers and secretaries of state will take stock of progress and outline next steps in the government’s plan, the PMO said, citing economic strength at home and diversified partnerships abroad.
The forum will include briefings from experts on the economy, Indigenous partnerships and global affairs, according to the release.
Carney’s office said the government has advanced major infrastructure projects, a Defence Industrial Strategy and a new tax credit aimed at business competitiveness, and is not changing course amid economic headwinds.
