KYIV – September 9, 2026 – Russia struck Ukraine overnight with ballistic missiles, cruise-style missiles and 196 attack drones, the Ukrainian Air Force said Wednesday, according to RBC-Ukraine.
Launches included Iskander-M ballistic missiles from occupied Crimea and drones from Russia’s Oryol and Kursk regions, occupied Donetsk territory and Crimea, the Air Force reported.
As of 8:30 a.m., Ukrainian air defences had neutralized 165 drones, while missile and drone strikes were recorded at 23 locations and debris fell at four more, RBC-Ukraine cited.
Strikes hit six districts in the Kyiv region, and a high-rise building in Kyiv was struck on the morning of Sept. 9, the report said. The attack was ongoing as drones remained in Ukrainian airspace.
