KRAMATORSK – October 9, 2026 – A Russian guided bomb hit Yuvileina Street in Kramatorsk at about 10 a.m. Thursday, where two passenger buses were moving. The State Emergency Service later put the dead at 33 and the injured at 18. Public transit in the city was stopped.
The Donetsk prosecutor’s office said the munition was a UMPB D-30SN. It struck near a dental clinic. Fires started in both buses and on the street. Three more people were killed in Bilenke, in the same urban community, one of them pulled from a house. Zelenskyy said the target was an ordinary stop, and that some of the dead could not be identified.
He put the two-day toll, Pryluky included, at 78 killed and 215 wounded, and he aimed the next line at Washington. Secretary of State Marco Rubio had called the war a stalemate. Zelenskyy, speaking in Pryluky, asked where the honesty was in that and called it unwillingness. He wants wider access to Starlink so Ukrainian units can find ballistic launchers. Kyrylo Budanov was already on a plane to the United States with the negotiating team, for meetings with Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff.
Overnight into Friday, drones were reported toward Kyiv and Odesa, and guided bombs toward Kharkiv, Donetsk and Sumy. A drone in Ivano-Frankivsk killed a 67-year-old security guard. Kramatorsk is the number that changed the week. Two buses, a stop, 33 people, in a city that is not supposed to be the front.
