KENORA – October 10, 2026 – Ontario Provincial Police have charged seven people after an investigation into drug trafficking in downtown Kenora that ran through the summer and ended with arrests on October 6 and 7.
OPP said teams started looking at controlled substances moving in the city core this summer. On October 6, officers, with Treaty Three Police, arrested two people and executed a search warrant in the city. The other five were picked up later that day and the next. Police said they seized methamphetamine, hydromorphone, a replica firearm, cash and trafficking paraphernalia. Twenty-one charges were laid.
The release names a 31-year-old Kenora man charged with trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime, and a 34-year-old Kenora man charged with two counts of trafficking and two of proceeds. A 26-year-old man from Naotkamegwanning First Nation faces trafficking and proceeds. A 38-year-old man from Washagamis Bay First Nation faces trafficking. All seven are to appear at the Kenora Courthouse. No date was given.
Hydromorphone on a Kenora warrant is not a new name in this town. It is the opioid that has turned up in local alerts for years, now sitting in a seizure list next to meth and a replica gun, from a probe that ran all summer before anyone was arrested. The accused have not been convicted. The downtown file is what the OPP chose to make public on a Friday before Thanksgiving.
